Bane was an enemy of Batman and the warden of Peña Duro Correctional Facility prison in Santa Prisca, Corto Maltese. Bane utilizes the "Bane venom" to strengthen his physique in order to fight his enemies.
He met the Red Hood after the latter captured the lieutenant of the Penitente Cartel and asked to throw him in his prison.
He later was forced to serve Gorilla Grodd and create more venoms to be used by Grodd and his gorilla soldiers.
