Vril-Dox was a scientist turned cyborg created by the Coluan race from planet Colu. After his transformation, he gained a new interest of conquest, seeking technological domination over multiple alien planets.

He inadvertently caused the Destruction of Krypton, after invading Krypton's largest city, Kandor, he was met with the resistance of the Kryptonian military, led by General Zod with the help of Green Lantern Irma Jan-Al. Alas, their efforts failed as Brainiac successfully shrinks and took possession of Kandor. Years later, due to Krypton's unstable core caused by his attack, the planet implodes.

Thousands of years ago, Vril-Dox was a renowned scientist on his home planet Colu, someday during a botched experiment, he was nearly killed and his body was revived and enhanced with cybernetic parts

Sometime after Krypton's destruction Brainiac visits the ruins to collect Kryptonites that are abundant.

Taking Kara Zor-El[]

Two years after Krypton's desstruction, Brainiac returns in the face of Kara Zor-El on her new residence, Graxos V.
