Synopsis[]
After the collapse of Queen Industries, Oliver Queen is suffering a mid-life crisis. He decides to abandon his fancy weapons in favor a more traditional bow and arrow.
Plot[]
In Seattle, Oliver Queen visits Dinah Lance's flower shop and jokingly asks for a job, Oliver alludes to a serial killer by the name of the "Seattle Slasher" and talks more to Dinah about their life.
Later, Ollie brings Dinah to his new home and gives her a tour around the place, ate dinner, and he finally shows her the bow and arrow he bought for $100,000 at the auction back in 2007, he monologues all of the stuff he and Dinah had been through, only to find out Dinah wasn't listening and had left for the room, where she waits for him naked. On the TV, news report informs that another killing has occurred. After having sex, Ollie and Dinah discuss their love life, how they aren't married with kids yet, and Dinah woefully tells him how she doesn't want kids, seeing as her life as a vigilante might put them in jeopardy.
Next day, Ollie does some archery in his backyard while elsewhere, a gravedigger is killed by an unknown archer assailant. Dinah comes to the basement to give Ollie an early birthday present, saying she couldn't wait, Ollie opens the present and receives a Robin Hood costume, Dinah had been busy and might not be around for a few days and she then says bye to Ollie.
Later, Ollie dons the costume and confronts some muggers, asking them about the Seattle Slasher. They told him everything they know, which led Arrow to a decrepit hideout of a veteran. Elsewhere, Kyle Magnor and Gregory Osborne discuss their crime business and the unknown assailant. As Arrow investigates the hideout, the killer returned, burning the place with Ollie still inside, however Ollie managed to evacuate. He follows the killer, chases after him, until the killer was suddenly hit by an arrow, seemingly out of nowhere (revealed to be Shado). Ollie then retrieves the arrow.
Magnor discusses his coke trafficking business with his friend Cronan, after meeting him, Cronan was killed by Shado. In the Seattle Police Department. Green Arrow has a sit down with Lieutenant Jim Cameron, and tells him about the arrow he found on Cronan, he also tells him about the perpetrator. They are interrupted by another officer, who informs them about another killing by an archer, Arrow then leaves the department.
Going back home, Ollie finds himself alone, and Dinah is nowhere to be seen, Ollie finds a note she wrote, that tells him how she began investigating the cocaine trafficking, he then goes to sleep. Elsewhere, Dinah's investigation had led her to the house of Roy Harper, who looks terrible as he began to use drugs to grieve Donna Troy. She goes inside and they talked to each other, and she finally asks him about his drug dealers. Later, she goes to a quiet part of the city where she is confronted by a gang of thugs, they ask her what she was doing and she becomes hostile, she manages to fight them off but one of them hit her in her throat, severing her Canary Cry, and she was unfortunately overwhelmed and taken captive.
Next day, Ollie meets Shado on top of a roof, they point their arrows to each other and talked a little, Shado releases her arrow and Ollie had his bow string cut before being defeated. Ollie gets up and finds Shado already gone. Later that night, Ollie investigates a boat and incapacitates the armed guards, and finds one of them already killed by an arrow. He notices Shado, and follows her to a building, where he horribly discovers a captive Dinah, who was thinking of ways to kill her captors, until suddenly one of them was hit by an arrow, and Dinah quickly incapacitates the rest, using all of her energy to fight them. A battle ensues with Dinah defeating many thugs and arrows sent flying by both Green Arrow and Shado. After it was all over, Ollie carries Dinah out of the building and it was blown up by Shado, who intentionally let Ollie and Dinah out first.
Later in the hospital, Dinah wakes up and Ollie is beside her. Lieutenant Cameron visits Ollie, wanting to discuss what just happened, he tells Ollie about the arrows found within the building, two kinds. Elsewhere, Magnor and Osborne talk about their business being tampered by archers, Osborne then brings in the muscle he hired, Malcolm Merlyn. Next day, Ollie finds Shado's arrow embedded on his car, with a small note and a coordinate written on it.
Ollie follows the coordinate to Mount Rainier. There, he faces Shado again, and she finally tells him her goal, of killing Magnor for the Yakuza. A helicopter then arrives, Ollie and Shado takes cover. Magnor and Osborne come out, with a few mercenaries with them, and Merlyn already on site. Another helicopter arrives, bringing the cocaine to Magnor. Shado abruptly shoots the drug dealers, and a shootout ensues, with Shado killing many dealers and Green Arrow fighting Merlyn, a fight that ends in Shado killing him by shooting an arrow to his head. Ollie then finds Osborne disposing the cocaine, and gives the money that was originally for the drug to Ollie telling him that he plans to get away, knowing he can't be implicated.
Ollie visits Dinah at the hospital, they chat for a bit and she tells him to visit Roy. Later, Ollie visits Roy and they go out for a walk together.
