Sandra Wu-San, also known by her codename Lady Shiva, is a former League of Assassins agent and the mother of Cassandra Cain. She was chosen by David Cain to bear his child in order to create a perfect weapon for their leader Ra's al-Ghul. After giving birth she left her child to Cain.
Decades later she reunited with David Cain and encountered the Birds of Prey. She was responsible for crippling Batgirl.

- Master Martial Artist: Lady Shiva is a deadly martial artist whose skill surpasses any of the Birds of Prey and possibly even that of Batman.
- Master Combatant: She has combined many moves and elements from numerous martial arts including a few forgotten ones to create a combat form that matches her own strengths.
- Peak Human Condition: Due to constant training and an active career as an assassin, Shiva had molded her body to that of peak conditions.
