Jonathan "John" Corben was a former employee of Wayne Enterprises, who suffered severe injuries that cost him the use of his left arm and both of his legs after the Black Zero Event.
After desecrating the Superman monument and being detained, he was bailed out of custody by Lex Luthor, who offered him a deal to repair his physique into a bleeding edge robot, named Metallo.
Biography[]
Black Zero Event[]
During General Zod's invasion of Earth, his forces attacked Corben's home city of Metropolis. During his attempt to terraform, Wayne Tower collapsed, where Corben worked as a security guard. Present at the time, Keefe Corben to evacuate people from the building before it began to crumble.
Bruce Wayne, just arriving in the city, got to the ruins of his building. He entered the rubble looking amongst it for any survivors. There, he found Corben, his legs and arm trapped underneath rubble, before joining a few others at freeing him. Corben was rushed in to get medical care, though the lower halves of both legs and his right arm had to be amputated, resulting in him losing his job.

Months after the event, he visited the Superman monument and vandalized the statue, etching "False God" into the insignia. He was later taken to custody and was bailed out by Lex Luthor.

- Cybernetic Enhancement: Having suffered a fatal accident during the Black Zero Event which cost him his physical body, John Corben had his consciousness transplanted into an all but unstoppable robot body created by Lex Luthor comprised of an artificial metal which never tires or falters, and can effectively last forever when powered by Kryptonite.
- Superhuman Strength: Metallo's strength level is augmented by his cybernetic components.
- Superhuman Durability: Corben's bionics are comprised of an virtually indestructible alloy.
- Energy Projection: Metallo could emit and fire kryptonite radiation from his body at will.
- Master Combatant: With extensive combat simulations uploaded into his dataframe, Metallo is able to use hand-t-hand combat and martial arts effectively.
- Enhanced Senses: Metallo's sensory receptor range was greatly augmented beyond the human norm.
- Computer Analysis: Metallo's brain had been augmented with advanced computational implants which enable advanced mathematical calculus for computing and formulating precise tactical approximations and stratagems for most any given situation.
- Accelerated Probability: With his rapid processing engine, Corben can predict the most probable outcome of any given situation down to the last fraction of a second
