"I have turned 100.000 worlds to dust, looking for Anti-Life, I have grown weary of defeating those destined to lose against me."
Darkseid referencing different versions of his victims[src]

The multiverse is a conceptual, but existing aggregate of all universes, timelines, and dimensions existing separately, yet alongside one another on a continuous timestream.

The overview of multiversal travel is that multiple versions of the same person cannot exist in one timeline, if someone travels to another timeline they will possess that timeline's version of them, resulting in their memories merging. If they don't exist in that timeline, they do not possess anyone and no changes occur to their corporeal form. However this is not the case if it's a different dimension, multiple versions of the same individual can converge in one dimension. This logic has some outliers such as Supergirl and Power Girl existing in the same timeline due to Brainiac's ship mechanics.[2]
