The Second Amazon-Atlantean War was a war that occurred after Ares returned to power and takes over the Amazons as well as manipulating Ocean Master to attack Themyscira. In Ocean Master's point of view, this was to eliminate the Amazons so that they won't interfere in his greater objective to attack the rest of humanity.
Knowing this, the newly formed Justice League interferes to help Aquaman stop the war, while trying to hold off the mind-controlled Wonder Woman

Years before Darkseid's First Invasion of Earth, the Amazons and Atlanteans fought in their respective first major war against each other.
Ares' return[]
After Hippolyta's murder by Atlantean spies Bres and Pomoxis, Ares presented himself before the Amazons. The Amazons promptly attacked him, but failed as he managed to mind control them all. He then proceeds to further affect Ocean Master's actions to invade Themyscira.
