Stephanie Brown is a former vigilante operating in Gotham and the daughter of criminal Cluemaster. She lived in Metropolis until her family moved to Gotham when her father "got a new job", when she found out about her father's criminal activities, she donned a costume and became the vigilante Spoiler to try to take him down.
One night when investigating her father she met with the Birds of Prey and worked together to bring down the her father's employer, the Penguin.
She regularly comes across Robin, one of Batman's partners. As he was falling in love with her and vice versa, they began patrolling Gotham together. Their relationship lead to her being involved in the unraveling of the shadow organization Court of Owls.
After Barbara Gordon's retirement as Batgirl, she passed the mantle to Stephanie.
