Vixen is a 2023 superhero film based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. A spin-off of Wonder Woman 2, it is the 24th film in the DC Extended Universe and the 2nd installment of Bronze Age. It was released on April 20, 2023 on HBO and HBO Max.
The film introduces Aku Kwesi into the DCEU.
Synopsis[]
Mari Jiwe McCabe inherits the Tantu totem, gaining the powers of the entire animal kingdom and uses them for good.
Plot[]
In 1998, at her mother's funeral, Mari is given the Tantu totem by her father.
In the present day, Vixen, along with Birds of Prey members Black Canary and Batgirl, is infiltrating an illegal weapons base, where Barbara and Dinah discovers the weapons are part of a racketeering activity with ties to a local warlord in Zambesi, the one who was responsible for the death of Vixen's mother. Deciding not to tell Vixen, they sent the information to the Justice League. Mr. Terrific receives the message in the Watchtower and informs John Stewart about it.
Later, Vixen is visited by John Stewart in her resident to tell her about the news. John emplores Mari not to meddle with the case and let the Justice League handle it, which Mari ignores.

It was announced in 2021 that Vixen would get her own film with Javicia Leslie reprising the role as the titular character. Wayne T. Carr was slated to return as John Stewart later that year.
